When data exchange occurs between Structural discipline and RAM Structural System, Structural discipline's Model Merging capabilities can selectively process updates to members (i.e. property changes, location changes, additions and deletions) while maintaining the integrity of Structural member types not supported by the data exchange process.

When Update is selected, only the changes to the Structural elements are passed through the translation. Other data and elements in the analytical program model file are maintained as they were before previous exchanges.
